Brazilian Immigrant Center

Cristina Lamas, graduated in Pedagogy and pedagogical supervision by the University of Philosophy of Science and Letters Cataguases, Minas Gerais, Brazil. She's been living in the U.S.since 1999. She is part of the Board of BIC. Has a passion for Portuguese language. She's working on a project, along with Sonia Pereira, to help undocumented students to attend the University in the United States.

Tim Sieber has been volunteering at the Center since late 2007, and has been a member of the board since 2009.  He joined the Center as a volunteer, and continues there, in order to support the dedicated work of Brazilian friends working with the immigrant community.  Over the years he has volunteered for a number of community-based non-profits in Boston and New York City. Tim lives in Dorchester and is also a professor of anthropology at UMass Boston.
